Atrophie gyrée de découverte tardive

L'atrophie gyrée est une dystrophie choriorétinienne associée à un déficit enzymatique en ornithine aminotransférase.

Nous rapportons un cas d'atrophie gyrée évoluée chez une patiente de 29 ans, chez qui l'affection est découverte de manière fortuite. Nous profitons de la description de ce cas pour envisager les approches physiopathologiques et exposer les connaissances génétiques actuelles sur la maladie. Enfin, nous présentons les orientations thérapeutiques proposées ainsi que leurs modes d'action.

Gyrate atrophy of the choroid and retina is a chorioretinal degeneration caused by a deficiency of ornithine aminotransferase.

We report the case of a 29-year-old woman who showed an advanced stage of gyrate atrophy of the choroid and retina fortuitously discovered. Examination of the patient provided an opportunity to describe pathophysiology, knowledge on the ornithine aminotransferase gene, and finally the therapeutics used in this disease.
