Abstract
Geneviève Prigent, pioneering and passionate orthoptist

Geneviève Prigent is a great figure in orthoptics. Her work, carried out in collaboration with Dr Jean Lavat, ophthalmologist, has greatly increased the value of orthoptics in the treatment of strabismus. In particular, we owe to them the setting up of “work in space”. With a special interest in the strabismic child, she is concerned with its lateralisation, activity and emotional state.
