Abstract

Riboflavin was added to ethylene-propylene rubber in order to improve stability during ageing. We evaluated the antioxidant performance of riboflavin in ENR using the changes in the mechanical properties and the cross-linking density. Riboflavin is activated by UV and, as a result, has the properties of a strong reducing agent that provides high degradation protection. The antioxidant properties of riboflavin were examined by electroanalytical methods. The cyclic voltammetry of reduction and oxidation on Pt showed that the rate of reduction and oxidation of riboflavin depends on the reaction medium. The examined substance has antioxidant properties.
