Elsevier Masson SAS was born in 2005 in the merger between Elsevier France and Masson.Two major scientific and medical publishers have formed a leading French publisher of medical and paramedical material.

The three major departments within Elsevier Masson SAS, are books, covering from training to continuing education, EMC, the Medical Encyclopedia, and scientific, medical and paramedical journals.

Academic books, written by the best teachers for students of all levels, have been aiding health professionals for the last two centuries;
Books for continuing medical education, written by leading experts and University Professors for health professionals, general practitioners, specialists, pharmacists, dentists, vets ... and all paramedics, allow them to continuously update their knowledge;
The 47 EMC reference books in all medical disciplines, with their quarterly updates and their accompanying electronic versions have been used for nearly 80 years by French general and specialist physicians throughout their careers. 16 of these are translated into Spanish, and 15 into Italian.
Medical journals associated with the main French Learned Societies, contribute to the publication and maintenance of high level scientific knowledge of medical specialists and provide outreach and impact of French medical knowledge throughout the world;
