Summary |
This article presents a case report on a skeletal Class III associated with transverse maxillary constriction treated using a combined orthodontic and surgical approach. The presurgical orthodontic phase involved decompensation for the malocclusion accompanied by upper arch expansion. After 15months of orthodontic preparation, the patient underwent mandibular setback surgery. A period of orthodontic stabilization and finishing was undertaken during the three months post-surgery, with final debonding 24months after the start of treatment. The esthetic and functional results were very satisfactory thanks to this collaboration between orthodontics and surgery.
