Use of skin stapler in dermatologic surgery - 06/10/17
Résumé |
Skin stapling as an alternative to conventional suturing in office skin surgery is evaluated. Both scalpel wounds and punch excisions can be closed with the sterile disposable instruments now available. The chief advantage is speed. Wound closure with the stapler can be accomplished in one-fifth to one-half the time required for conventional suturing. In closing face wounds in young people, fine closure with silk or nylon may provide a superior cosmetic result. The stapler is ideal for closing scalp incisions, and no postoperative dressing is required.
