Résumé |
Introduction |
Discussion |
Conclusion |

Introduction |
As the growth of information increases, it can lead to information overload and affect the ability of healthcare workers to adopt useful knowledge for their practice. The aim of the study was to design and evaluate a video as a new knowledge dissemination strategy for the information of the pharmacy (i.e. clinical news, shortages) targeting healthcare workers in a teaching hospital.
Material and methods |
A prospective pilot study pre- and post-intervention. The intervention consisted of sending the information of the pharmacy using a video. Participants were invited to complete an anonymous online survey in pre-intervention and post-intervention. The pre-intervention survey aimed to assess the perceptions of healthcare workers about the content of the information of the pharmacy and their level of agreement with receiving it as a video. The post-intervention survey was used to assess their opinion about the video.
Results |
The overall response rate was 6% (pre-intervention) and 12% (post-intervention). Eighty-five percent of participants (pre-intervention and post-intervention) found the information of the pharmacy useful for their practice. Sixty-one percent were interested in receiving it as a video. Eighty-seven percent of participants who watched the video found it very interesting and plan to watch the future videos of the department of pharmacy.
Discussion |
Using a video to communicate the information of the pharmacy department is a knowledge dissemination strategy that meets healthcare workers’ expectations. Video helps to limit information overload related to emails. Leadership is a facilitator in watching a video.
Conclusion |
This study demonstrates the feasibility to design and evaluate a video as a new communication dissemination strategy of the pharmacy department.
