Acute coronary syndrome in young Algerian subject - 25/12/18

Introduction |
Although infrequent, the acute coronary syndrome of the young subject, represents a public health problem considering the young age of the patients, and the socio-economic and psychological consequences that it generates.
Objectives |
The main objective of our study: to profile the young coronary subject, and determine the modalities and outcomes of coronary angioplasty.
Material and method We conducted a descriptive and analytical single-center retrospective study over a period of 03 years (2015–2017) including patients aged≤40 years, and hospitalized for SCA in the HCA cardiology department.
Our analysis focuses on: FDR, electrical lesions, ultrasound, and anatomical lesions to coronary angiography and angioplasty results.
Results |
A total of 83 patients were included, 90% of whom were men. Sex ratio was 9/1. Average age was 32 years for men's and 34 years for women's.
Typical pain present at 76% the majority were STEMI anterior, with either a healthy or monotruncular network.
Conclusion |
It appears at the end of this study that most young people with ACS are male. The most important modifiable risk factor is smoking, the IVA is the culprit artery in the majority of cases, with a good prognosis.
