Lors des consultations d’annonce en cancérologie, les compétences relationnelles du médecin sont particulièrement sollicitées. La spécificité de la place des radiologues dans le processus d’annonce d’un cancer, ainsi que la diversité des réactions psychologiques des patientes sont discutées. Les aspects techniques et relationnels de la communication sont illustrés, afin de dégager des repères pratiques concernant la relation médecin-patient lors de l’annonce. Au-delà d’un processus d’apprentissage cognitif, il s’agit de rester dans une réflexivité par rapport à la manière d’être en relation.

When announcing a diagnosis during an oncology consultation, the relational skills of the doctor are particularly put into play. In this article, the specificity of the radiologists in the process of announcing a cancer, as well as the diversity of the psychological reactions of the patients are discussed. The technical aspects and the interpersonal skills of the communication are illustrated, to give practical features concerning the doctor-patient relationship during the announcement. Beyond a process of cognitive learning, it is a question of remaining in a reflexivity with respect to the way of “being in relation”.
