The management of musculo-skeletal diseases in the elderly requires to be optimized a tight collaboration between general practitioners, rheumatologists, possibly neurologists, especially for specific analysis of gait disorders, and geriatricians, in particular when the old person has polypathologies. To be effective, this management must follow a comprehensive geriatric approach. It requires the patient's physiological age, rather than the chronological age as well as associated pathologies and comorbidities, concomitant past and curent therapies,to be taken into account. Such an approach allows for a consequent and personally adapted checking of the risk-benefit ratio for each considered pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment.
