Le regard porté par la société sur les personnes en situation de handicap a évolué au cours du temps puisqu’elle a considéré tantôt qu’elles étaient associées au diable, tantôt qu’il était important de les aider pour son propre salut. Aujourd’hui, nombre d’entre nous, y compris les soignants, ressentent toujours un inconfort et une gêne face au handicap, ce qui n’est pas sans impact sur l’intégration pleine et entière de ces personnes.

Society’s view of people with disabilities has changed over time, from seeing them as being associated with the devil to seeing them as important to one’s own salvation. Today, many of us, including caregivers, still feel discomfort and embarrassment about disability, which has an impact on the full integration of these people.
