Gynecology, parenthood and disability, history of a consultation

Pregnancies among women with disabilities, although more frequent than before, often cause difficulties for professionals, notably because of a lack of knowledge and adapted equipment or because they have not identified a qualified network to help them. The Institut mutualiste Montsouris, one of the pioneers in this field, has created two consultations offering patients with motor, sensory or mental disabilities comprehensive and multidisciplinary care. Dedicated to parenthood and gynecological follow-up, they allow them to benefit from medical, psychological and social follow-up in conditions adapted to their disability.
