Durant les premiers mois de la pandémie de Sars-Cov-2, les soignants français ont fait face à des situations difficiles, des remaniements d’organisation, et des recommandations évoluant rapidement. Les médecins du travail des personnels hospitaliers devaient quant à eux accompagner les soignants, à la fois pour répondre à leurs questions, à la fois pour prévenir au mieux les risques pour leur santé en lien avec la pandémie. Des recommandations ont rapidement été émises par la Société française de medecine du travail. Dans notre CHU, une évaluation des expositions a été faite par service. Les médecins du travail conseillaient les agents et l’institution pour limiter les risques pour la santé des agents. Pourtant, face aux incertitudes liées aux méconnaissances du virus, comment tenir à la fois le rôle de protection de chaque agent, et celui de médecin inscrit dans une guerre sanitaire ? Cet article revisite à distance les tensions éthiques du médecin du travail hospitalier et les qualités nécessaires à l’accomplissement des ces missions.

During the first months of the Sars-Cov-2 pandemic, French caregivers faced difficult situations, organizational changes, and rapidly changing recommendations. The occupational physicians of the hospital staff had to accompany the caregivers, both to answer their questions, both to better prevent the risks to their health in connection with the pandemic. Recommendations were quickly issued by the Société française de médecine du travail (French Society of Occupational Medicine). In our CHU, an evaluation of exposures was made by department. Occupational physicians advised agents and the institution to limit the risks to the health of agents. However, faced with the uncertainties linked to ignorance of the virus, how can we play both the role of protection of each agent, and that of a doctor registered in a health war? This article revisits from a distance the ethical tensions of the hospital occupational physician and the qualities necessary for the accomplishment of these missions.
