• | Donor vigilance has contributed significantly to reducing donor risks, particularly with regard to vasovagal reactions. |
• | Additional efforts are needed to improve data standardization and comparability, and to conduct high-quality studies investigating donor reactions and complications (with a focus on apheresis donation, long-term risks, rare events). |
• | International collaboration and rapid technological developments (including artificial intelligence) will be the most important drivers of new research in donor vigilance. |
