T03-O-09 Tantra and sex therapy - 27/06/08
Résumé |
Basic principles of tantra for sex therapists;
Energy body as important as physical body.
Importance of sexual energy as dynamic, vital life principle. In case of low desire and arousal, sexual energy needs to be enlivened.
Tantric approach fits in with sex therapyʼs ethos of encouraging both individuals to take responsibility for oneʼs self in sex:
• | sex as coming together of bodies, emotions and energy bodies. |
• | seeing your partner as an energy body (sidestepping irritating personality traits). |
• | seeing your partner as divine (recognising the divinity in us all). |
Use of yoga components of breathing, movement and visualisation.
These principles are familiar to anyone with a background in meditation/yoga
The oral presentation will be supported by a short video excerpt demonstrating Tantra breathing techniques (fully clothed)with my colleague, Dr M Tripathi.
This will demonstrate how simple it is to use these techniques
