T09-O-26 Dyspareunia in aging women - 27/06/08

Introduction |
The cause of dyspareunia may be posttuberculous cystalgia, which complicates tuberculous cystitis in 39,1%, predominantly in aging women.
Material and Methods |
260 women with urotuberculosis were enrolled in study. Bladder tuberculosis was in 16,1%. Inspection involved bacteriological tests, value of estradiol, cystoscopy, biopsy, uroflowmetry. The treatment was laserheat puncture.
Results |
The treatment of bladder tuberculosis was successful in 42,1%, microcystis was generated in 18,8%. Specific cystitis finished by posttuberculous cystalgia in 39,1%, all these women complained also on difficulties with sexual intercourse. Laserheatpuncturing showed high efficiency. Significant diminution of dysuria was marked. Bladder volume has increased. Pathomorphological investigation of tissue specimens testified the improving of trophic condition of an urocystis wall. The level of blood estradiol has increased on the average up to 30,4±1,1 pkg/ml, the distinction with an initial level it is statistically authentic (P < 0,05). Desire and libido restored in 78,5%, orgasm has appeared in 42,3%.
Follow-up was 1-3 years. To 8-th from patients the repeated rates of laserheatpuncturing carried out. To 2 women in one year the third rate of treatment was conducted, after that “cold period” was 1,5 years.
Conclusion |
Laser-heat puncture in the patients withposttuberculous cystalgia and dispareunia is rather effective and can be considered as a method of choice. This method is inexpensive, non-invasive, painful and good toleranted.
