À l’hôpital, soumis aux logiques gestionnaires d’efficience et de rentabilité, la médecine a désinvesti l’aspect relationnel du soin au profit d’une conception technoscientifique. Les longues hospitalisations, au sein de cet univers langagier déshumanisant, peuvent ainsi avoir des conséquences délétères pour les patients et les professionnels qui les entourent. En questionnant l’impact du discours hospitalier qui réifie le patient, nous proposons une réflexion sur la place accordée au sujet dans le soin. L’analyse réflexive, a posteriori, du long parcours de soins à l’hôpital de Monsieur S, ponctuée d’observations de son dossier médical, donnera à entendre les mécanismes de déshumanisation à l’œuvre dans ces prises en charge. Il s’agira ensuite d’explorer la possibilité pour les professionnels des EMSP, intervenant à l’hôpital, de contribuer à y réintroduire et soutenir la subjectivité. D’un point de vue psychologique et éthique, nous tenterons d’extraire des axes d’amélioration des pratiques.

In hospitals, subject to the managerial logic of efficiency and profitability, medicine has disinvested the relational aspect of care in favor of technoscientific conception. Long hospitalizations, within this dehumanizing linguistic universe, can thus have deleterious consequences for patients and the professionals who surround them. By questioning the impact of hospital discourse that reifies the patient, we propose a reflection on the place given to the subject in care. The reflexive a posteriori analysis of Mr. S.’s long hospital care journey, punctuated by observations of his medical file, will give insight into the mechanisms of dehumanization at work in this care. It will then be a question of exploring the possibility for professionals from mobile palliative care teams, working in hospitals, to contribute to reintroducing and supporting subjectivity. From a psychological and ethical perspective, we will attempt to extract areas for improving practices.
