Cet article propose de penser le «  care  » comme un concept charnière permettant d’articuler de manière cohérente santé humaine et protection de l’environnement. À partir de l’hypothèse selon laquelle tout être vivant ne peut être compris indépendamment du milieu dans lequel il s’inscrit, il met en évidence la manière dont la dégradation des écosystèmes met en péril la santé individuelle et collective, particulièrement à l’ère de l’anthropocène. En mobilisant à la fois les approches de la santé globale ( One health ), de l’écologie profonde du philosophe norvégien Arne Næss et l’éthique du care – notamment les travaux de Carol Gilligan et Joan Tronto –, il s’agit de montrer que le «  prendre soin  » ne peut être réduit à une relation interindividuelle, mais doit être conçu comme une exigence politique et écologique visant à préserver les conditions de possibilité d’une «  vie bonne  » pour les humains et l’ensemble du vivant. L’article défend ainsi l’idée qu’une politique du care , attentive à la vulnérabilité et à l’interdépendance de tous les êtres, constitue une voie privilégiée pour articuler les enjeux sanitaires et environnementaux dans un horizon de justice et de soutenabilité.

This article aims to conceptualize “care” as a key notion for articulating human health and environmental protection. Starting from the hypothesis that no living being can be understood independently of its milieu, it shows how ecosystem degradation endangers both individual and collective health, particularly in the Anthropocene. Drawing on global health approaches (One health), the deep ecology of the Norwegian philosopher Arne Næss, and care ethics – especially the works of Carol Gilligan and Joan Tronto – it argues that “caring” cannot be reduced to interpersonal relationships, but must be understood as a political and ecological requirement aimed at preserving the conditions for a “good life” for humans and all living beings. The article thus defends the idea that a politics of care, attentive to vulnerability and interdependence, offers a privileged way to bring together health and environmental concerns within a horizon of justice and sustainability.
