Cementoplasty is a palliative treatment for bone metastases. It can be performed alone or in addition to other treatments, such as radiotherapy, radiofrequency ablation or cryotherapy. It is usually performed to reduce pain where the metastases involve the spine and pelvis. It can also be used to stabilise bones in the event of lytic metastases with a risk of fracture. Unlike ablation techniques, it should not be considered a cancer treatment.Le texte complet de cet article est disponible en PDF.
