For 8 years, in our institution, 40,000 patients have come walking to the operating theatre whatever the surgical procedure. This management aims at maintaining the patient's autonomy and reducing anxiety while preserving his dignity. Patients keep their prostheses and ortheses in the operating room and settle themselves on the operating table and then answer to the questions of the check-list. They are undressed only after induction of anaesthesia. This organisation facilitates patients’ circulation in the operating room while sparing manpower previously dedicated to this task.
