Abstract

Anorexia nervosa is a unique illness in that it involves severe psychopathological problems which manifest themselves in the body. Besides the usual “symptomatic triad”, the clinical description tends to associate psychiatric and physical symptoms, which are equally important to consider, since prognosis is based on both types of manifestations. The goal of this article is to list the many medical signs and symptoms of anorexia nervosa in the most complete manner possible and then to describe the various clinical forms of the illness.
