Les injections de toxine botulique A utilisées dans le traitement des rides dynamiques sont une des procédures esthétiques les moins invasives. La grande satisfaction des patients et la faible survenue d’effets secondaires toujours modérés contribuent à la popularité grandissante des injections de toxine botulique en esthétique ces dernières années. Des années d’expérience et d’utilisation, en thérapeutique [1,2] et en esthétique (20 ans !) ont prouvé l’efficacité et la sécurité de ce traitement des rides. À l’heure actuelle, aucun effet sévère ou à long terme n’a été rapporté en esthétique. Ne sont traités ici que les effets locorégionaux les plus courants. Ils sont rares, modérés, transitoires et totalement réversibles. Par une bonne information et une bonne sélection des patients, ces effets seront prévenus et gérés avec succès.

Botulinum toxin serotype A injections used in treating dynamic wrinkles is one of the least invasive cosmetic procedures. High patient satisfaction and low onset of always moderate side effects contribute to the growing popularity of botulinum toxin injections in cosmetic treatment over the past few years. Years of experience and use, in therapeutics [1,2] and esthetics (20 years) have proven the efficacy and the safety of this wrinkle treatment. Today, no severe or long-term side effects have been reported in esthetics. This article discusses only the most frequent locoregional effects. They are rare, moderate, transitory, and totally reversible. Properly informing and selecting patients will contribute to successfully preventing and managing these effects.
