L’anatomie topographique musculaire du visage est connue depuis longtemps, quant à l’anatomie fonctionnelle, elle a été étudiée par de nombreux neurologues dont un des premiers fut Duchenne de Boulogne.

La possibilité de corriger non seulement des rides, mais aussi de modifier certains équilibres régionaux donne à la toxine botulique une dimension, mais aussi des contraintes qui doivent être connues des futurs injecteurs, mais aussi par ceux plus chevronnés qui voudraient traiter dans ces zones plus difficiles.
