Linear verrucous hemangioma

Utta Wentscher, MD, Rudolf Happle, MD
Department of Dermatology, University of Marburg. Marburg, Germany

A 16-year-old male patient had multiple angiokeratotic lesions arranged in a linear pattern on his left arm. Histopathologic examination showed characteristic features of verrucous hemangioma. This entity should be distinguished from angiokeratoma or simple hemangioma. The linear arrangement of lesions as observed in this case may reflect genetic mosaicism. Deep surgery is the best treatment for verrucous hemangioma. (J Am Acad Dermatol 2000;42:516-8.)
