Abstract

We analysed the stable isotopes (18O and 2H) of rainwater and drip water within a cave (Nerja Cave) located in the unsaturated zone of a carbonate aquifer. Rainfall is more abundant and presents lower isotopic content in winter, while the volume of drip water is greater and its isotopic content is lower in summer. The flow analysis of 18O through the unsaturated zone confirms the seasonal lag between rainfall and the appearance of drip water in the cave and reveals that the unsaturated zone of the aquifer, in the sector of the cave, behaves like an inertial system with a strong capability to modulate the input signal. Résumé

Les isotopes stables (18O and 2H) de la pluie et des eaux de suintement collectées dans une grotte (grotte de Nerja) située dans la zone non saturée dʼun aquifère carbonaté ont été analysés. La pluie est plus abondante et présente une teneur isotopique plus appauvrie en hiver, alors que le débit dʼeau de suintement est plus grand en été, avec des teneurs plus appauvries. Lʼanalyse du flux de 18O à travers la zone non saturée confirme le décalage saisonnier entre pluie et restitution dans la grotte. Il révèle que la zone non saturée, dans le secteur de la grotte, se comporte comme un système inertiel, avec une forte capacité de modulation du signal dʼentrée. Pour citer cet article : F.
