Correspondence.
Sir,

The recent publication on orbital cysticercosis and third nerve palsy is very interesting [1]. El Hamdaoui et al. reported a case diagnosed by immunological study. There are some concerns. First, the diagnosis of cysticercosis is usually based on the histopathology. The use of imaging or immunodiagnostic test is not definitive. The cross reaction is the main problem in using immunodiagnosis. Of interest, the cross reaction is reported for many parasitosis, including echinococcosis and gnathostomiasis [2]. Focusing on gnathostomiasis, it can present as ocular infestation and it can also cause the cranial nerve palsy [3]. Also, although it is rare, the ocular echinococcosis can be seen [4].
