The conceptual map (Cmap) is an evaluation tool of the patients’ knowledge in a therapeutic education program (TEP). The aim is to estimate the knowledge of COPD patients after a program of TEP in pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) by using Cmap. Seven COPD patients hospitalized in PR unit are included in this study. An educational interview is realized at the beginning and the end of program with construction of Cmap. The evolution of the number of erroneous or right notions and the number of links between the themes allows to estimate the knowledge. We notice a significant increase of the links between the themes, the number of right concepts (P<0.05) and a significant decrease of the erroneous concepts (P<0.05). Cmap puts forward the improvement of the integration of the patients’ knowledge. Cmap seems to be an interesting tool but its use in current practice seems difficult considering the time required for their realization.
