Placoid pigment epitheliopathy and serpiginous choroiditis are part of the syndromes of the white patches of the fundus and have similarities that can cause confusion between these two diseases. However, they are very different in terms of their progression and prognosis, which requires a diagnosis of certainty in order to better manage the patients suffering from the disease and to identify potential progressive complications that are potentially serious. The clinical presentation, the results of functional explorations, the differential diagnoses and the treatment of these two pathologies are discussed in this article.
