Résumé |
Introduction |

Introduction |
The tracking of implantable medical devices (IMD) is statutory and must meet several objectives: traceability for sterility and/or contamination, financial monitoring and adherence to the guidelines for therapeutic use.
Objective |
The project should enable the development of long-term computerized tracking. The aim of the study is to establish a record of the implementation of the tracking of IMD on the list of reimbursable products and benefits.
Materials and methods |
The employment of a computerized tracking system for IMD necessitated software upgrades within the pharmacy department, the creation of jobs, investment in new equipment including hand-held barcode scanners, and the training of operating room staff to the computerized tracking system.
Results and discussion |
At the end of 2010, 88% of IMD ISL (including osteo-fixation implants) were tracked; the untracked references correspond to non-sterile osteosynthesis materials. In 2009, a financial gain of € 106002 was observed. Quality assurance documents, inventories and a pharmacy telephone hotline were put in place to ensure smooth operation of the project. Weaknesses and strengths were highlighted. Our university hospital aims to trace all DMI to June 30, 2011.
