Résumé |
Le choix d'une technique dépend ici de la philosophie thérapeutique du praticien. Pour le traitement d'un enfant atteint de fente labio-palatine, notre priorité est l'acceptation de l'enfant qui nécessite : d'informer les parents et la société de ce qu'est réellement la dysmorphie ; de réaliser la reconstruction néonatale de l'apparence du visage ; d'avoir le souci, dès la naissance, de la coordination motrice ; de reconstruire précocement les organes phonatoires à 6-7 mois en même temps qu'est instaurée une guidance orthophonique pour l'éducation de leur fonctionnement ; d'assurer une surveillance interdisciplinaire de l'évolution locale et générale de l'enfant ; et enfin que chacun coopère avec l'instituteur à l'intégration scolaire de l'enfant.

Abstract |
Our choice in the treatment of the C.L.P. child is that the child is accepted by his parents and by Society as well as possible.
In this way, the most important points are: to inform parents and Society of the ability of the child to a normal and satisfactory life. This information must be based upon the exact knowledge of what is really the cleft disease, its causes, and not only the genetic ones, the whole troubles induced by the cleft, local and general, and their treatement: by neonatal operation and , however was the choice of operative technic, by educative and reeducative means based on an exact knowledge of the modified pysiology of the child: above all, sensory-motricity coordination and early speech-therapy before speech. The follow-up of the child at the difficult time of school admission, and cooperation between all the members of the team and the teachers.
