Amaurose bilatérale aiguë par surdosage accidentel en quinine : intérêt de l’oxygénothérapie hyperbare - 07/06/14

Nous rapportons un cas rare d’intoxication accidentelle aiguë à la quinine responsable d’une cécité bilatérale brutale avec récupération visuelle partielle en 24heures. La patiente a été traitée à l’aide d’oxygénothérapie hyperbare et de nitrates intraveineux avec une récupération complète de l’acuité visuelle, mais persistance d’altérations sévères du champ visuel à 6 mois.

We report a rare case of quinine toxicity causing acute bilateral blindness, followed by documented partial recovery within 24hours. The patient was treated with hyperbaric oxygenotherapy and intravenous nitrates. Visual defects persist after 6 months.
