Ultrasound remains a solid member of the imaging arsenal when the liver is considered. Recent literature involving ultrasonographic evaluation of the liver has included such topics as the monitoring of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) for dysfunction by Doppler, a noninvasive way to screen for impending occlusion.2 Casarella W.J.
