LAPAROSCOPIC COLON RESECTION - 11/09/11
Resumen |
Laparoscopic colon resection represents a spectrum of procedures done using videotelescopic assistance to remove a portion of the colon. The majority of these are technically laparoscopy-assisted procedures, with a portion of the operation, most frequently the anastomosis, being done extracorporeally.1, 6, 22, 24, 33 However, some surgeons do perform the procedures completely laparoscopically.5 The relative benefit of this latter approach is as yet unclear.22 Where otherwise unspecified, the use of laparoscopic colon resection in this article refers to both types of procedures.
