Pseudomonas keratitis is a devastating ocular infection that often results in loss of the eye unless it is treated within the first 24 to 48 hours. In some patients, usually elderly and debilitated persons, the Pseudomonas infection is idiopathic.4 I have treated a case of Pseudomonas keratitis originating from a source that, to the best of my knowledge, has not been reported previously-the patient’s own sputum.
