Renal MR angiography is a rapidly evolving technique that continues to improve with technical refinements. It does not replace conventional radiographic angiography for evaluation of suspected renal artery stenosis, but is useful in cases when angiography is contraindicated. It is also a fast, simple, and accurate method for evaluating the renal veins. Cdenhanced renal MR arteriography is a recently developed technique that is still in an early state of development, but is already being used clinically and has shown great promise in improving renal artery visualization and clinical accuracy.
