Nurse coordinators and IPAs in Parkinson’s expert centers: what are their roles?

La création des centres experts Parkinson (CEP) a favorisé l’apparition de nouveaux infirmiers, appelés infirmiers de coordination (Idec). Et en 2018, l’émergence de la pratique avancée infirmière a permis à une nouvelle catégorie de professionnels, les infirmiers en pratique avancée (IPA), de voir le jour. Idec et IPA jouent un rôle majeur dans la réponse à apporter aux enjeux de santé publique en lien avec la maladie de Parkinson. Ils sont garants de la mise en œuvre d’un parcours de soins personnalisé dont l’objectif est de proposer aux patient une qualité de vie optimisée. Ils tissent un lien indispensable entre l’offre de soins de ville et le CEP en collaborant avec de nombreux professionnels du soin intervenant auprès des personnes atteintes de la maladie de Parkinson.

The creation of Parkinson’s expert centers (PEC) led to the emergence of new nurses, known as coordination nurses. And in 2018, the emergence of advanced practice nursing led to the creation of a new category of professionals, advanced practice nurses (APN). Nurses coordinators and APN play a major role in meeting the public health challenges posed by Parkinson’s disease. They are the guarantors of the implementation of a personalized care pathway, the aim of which is to offer patients an optimized quality of life. They forge an indispensable link between the city’s healthcare services and the PEC, collaborating with the many healthcare professionals who work with people suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
