Training sessions with professionals and informative sessions for GID subjects: a report of our experience (CSSC, Turin) - 27/06/08

Objectives |
Specific training of professionals and informative sessions for transsexuals have, in our opinion, a strong impact on quality of life of people involved in Gender Reassignment Process.
In fact is very important finding clinicians, social workers, nurses, teachers, etc. well-informed about GID matter and, as the same time, is important being partner of therapeutic choices concerning ourselves health.
The aim of this report is to investigate and discuss needs analysis, project methods and results concerning the training sessions and the informative sessions we organized in our training centre.
Design and methods |
This paper shows qualitative outcomes of semi-structured interviews and satisfaction questionnaires administered to people attending our training sessions for professionals and informative sessions dedicated to GID subjects.
The sample is composed of 10 GID subjects (5 MtF and 5 FtM) and 40 professionals (20 Females, 20 Males).
Results |
A qualitative analysis about results of our training sessions and informative sessions will be done. Moreover significant results’ll be shown concerning the customer satisfaction of professionals attending the training session.
Conclusion |
We’ll discuss the results concerning our experience to help clinicians and other professionals involved in GID matter in establishing an higher-quality relationship with transsexual subjects and in making most appropriate therapeutic choices with the patients themselves.
