T10-O-01 Facts that influence the feminine sexuality after the childbirth - 27/06/08

In this investigation we used a descriptive design, cross sectional, that had as objectives: (1) to know if the women in the first fifteen months after the childbirth obtains levels of interest and sexual answer elevated, complete and well integrated; (2) to identify if significant differences exist in the levels of interest and of sexual answer along the 15 months after the childbirth; (3) to know if the interest and the womanʼs sexual answer after the childbirth is influenced by the perception that she has of her sexual partner; (4) to identify the biological, psychological, social and situational factors that influence the levels of interest and the feminine sexual answer after the childbirth. In this sense McCoy Female Sexuality Questionary was applied to 202 women(age range 13-43 years)in the first 15 months after the childbirth, that turn to Bombarral, Caldas da Raínha, Óbidos, and Peniche Health Centres.Level of education of the sample: 9 years of education(31.2%), 12 years of education(22.3%), Licentiate(26.7%). The data were treated by computer program using descriptive and inferential statistics.
The results obtained in this study shows that the women in the first 15 months of postpartum obtained levels of sexual desire and sexual response elevated, complete and well integrated. The items satisfaction with the partner as lover, satisfaction as friend, were the more elevated(alpha< .05). The most negative ones consisted of low frequency of sexual relationships.
An extension of this series is warranted to better defined some contradiction (or not)of these data.
