Une antibioprophylaxie vise à s’opposer à la prolifération bactérienne afin de réduire le risque d’infection chez un patient. L’émergence des bactéries multirésistantes pouvant aboutir à des impasses thérapeutiques amène la communauté médicale internationale à proposer régulièrement des programmes d’optimisation de l’utilisation des antibiotiques. Le GPIP a mis à jour en 2026 les recommandations de bonne pratique en antibioprophylaxie chirurgicale de l’enfant (APC) hors néonatalogie, en collaboration avec la Société française d’anesthésie réanimation (SFAR), et l’antibioprophylaxie médicale courte (APM). Ces recommandations proposent un cadre général issu de l’analyse de données nationales et internationales, voire le plus souvent d’avis d’experts, et entendent servir de support à la mise en place de protocoles locaux d’antibioprophylaxie propres à chaque équipe.

Antibiotic prophylaxis aims to counteract bacterial proliferation in order to reduce the risk of infection in a patient. The emergence of multi-resistant bacteria, which can lead to therapeutic impasses, has prompted the international medical community to regularly propose programs to optimize the use of antibiotics. In collaboration with the Société française d’anesthésie réanimation (SFAR), the GPIP has updated (2026) its recommendations for good practice in surgical antibiotic prophylaxis in children (APC), and for short antibiotic prophylaxis in medicine.(APM) These recommendations provide a general framework based on the analysis of national and international data, and more often than not on expert opinion, and are intended to support the implementation of local antibiotic prophylaxis protocols specific to each team.
