«Profiles of sex offenders: benefits of the psychocriminological approach» - 27/07/26
Abstract |
Research on sexual offending now benefits from nearly a century of hindsight. The emotional burden associated with sexual violence is particularly high and often makes this phenomenon difficult to address, especially when discussing perpetrators of sexual offenses. This article examines the different profiles of sexual offenders from a psychocriminological perspective, largely inspired by Canadian and American research, and proposes an analytical framework for forensic psychology grounded in scientifically validated methods. The primary objective of this article is to broaden the analysis of the complex phenomenon of sexual offending by highlighting its polymorphic nature, with the subsequent aim of contributing to improved interventions with sexual offenders.
