Abstract |
The consultation psychiatrist is frequently called on to assess patients in medical settings with primary or secondary hematologic disorders. This article addresses psychiatric issues that are specific to patients who have selected hematologic disorders, including B12 and folate deficiency, sickle cell disease, and hemophilia, discussing the diseases, their unique psychiatric manifestations, and approaches to management. A review of hematologic side effects of psychotropic medications is also included.
