Thus, LV volumes and ejection fraction obtained from 3-dimensional echocardiography using a multiplane TEE probe correlates highly with left ventriculography for estimation of LV volumes and ejection fraction. This suggests that this technique may be useful in the evaluation of LV function in the clinical setting.
