Résumé

Les salmonelloses, comptant parmi les principales causes de gastro-entérites bactériennes, sont responsables surtout chez les jeunes enfants d’infections invasives sévères, voire létales. Les reptiles sont des réservoirs de Salmonella , le contact, même indirect via les mains des parents, peut être responsable de contamination. Nous rapportons deux cas de co-infection salmonellose/rotavirus secondaires à la présence de tortues à domicile.

Summary

Salmonellosis is a leading cause of bacterial gastroenteritis, responsible for invasive infections especially in young children. Reptiles are salmonella reservoirs, and the indirect contact via parents’ hands may be responsible for contamination. We report on two cases of Salmonella –rotavirus coinfection secondary to the presence of turtles in the home.
