Résumé

La gastrostomie percutanée endoscopique est la technique de choix pour la nutrition entérale de longue durée. Ses indications se sont élargies en raison de la simplicité et de la rapidité de la technique et grâce à l'évolution du matériel. Le respect des quelques contre-indications absolues et la rigueur dans la réalisation de la technique sont les facteurs primordiaux de l'obtention d'un faible taux de morbidité et de mortalité.

Summary

Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is now well recognised as the best method for long term enteral nutrition. The simplicity and the rapidity of the technique and the evolution of materials have contributed to the widening of its indications. The respect of the absolute contraindications and a rigorous technique are the essential factors to obtain low rats of morbidity and mortality.
