The sacroiliac joint is a definite source of low back and lower limb pain. This article discusses its anatomy, biomechanics, pathophysiology, and noninvasive and invasive clinical evaluation. The spectrum of treatment approaches is discussed. Injection techniques regarding the sacroiliac joint are reviewed in detail, and a modified approach to intra-articular injections is presented.
