• | The SOFA score, rather than the quick SOFA score, constitutes the clinical criteria of sepsis. |
• | Deconfounding is 1 of the 3 basic principles of case-control studies and should not be violated; stratification or matching can be considered to reduce the biases caused by the confounders. |
• | Sepsis often appears first, then followed by catheterization, rather than just the opposite! However, we should not ignore the possibility of catheter-related infection. |
