• | We posit MSUs as a compelling means to circumvent unreliable access to electricity, water, and oxygen on surgical missions. |
• | Life-threatening, complex surgeries are currently beyond the scope and intention of short-term surgical missions. |
• | Minor, minimally invasive procedures, where expertise and systems are limited, support training and relationship building. |
• | The inherent mobility of MSUs permit flexible and cost-effective mitigation of a large burden of surgical disease worldwide. |
