Etomidate Should be the Default Agent for Rapid Sequence Intubation in the Emergency Department - 18/11/21
| Editor’s Note: Etomidate is a classic agent used for induction in rapid sequence intubation in the emergency department. Concerns about possible side effects have led to the consideration of other induction agents, and many clinicians have adopted ketamine as an alternative “first choice” induction agent. In this installment of Clinical Controversies, advocates for each of these medications discuss the “pros” and “cons” of using each of these induction agents for rapid sequence intubation in the emergency department. |
