Femme enceinte et traitements psychotropes - 07/07/22
Attachment, psychopathology and motherhood

Maintaining a good psychological balance in a pregnant woman or a woman planning to have a child with a psychiatric pathology is an essential objective of the treatment. In some cases, the prescription of psychotropic drugs is necessary. The choice of the most appropriate medication is based on its expected efficacy and on the data available during pregnancy. The potential occurrence of transient neonatal effects if the medication is continued until delivery must be weighed against the risks of decompensation that could occur if the mother’s treatment is reduced or even stopped.
