Office-based pediatric procedures are integral to pediatric surgical care, allowing for efficient and safe management of various conditions outside the operating room and hospital. Procedures such as circumcision, frenotomy, biopsy, abscess drainage, central line removal, feeding tube exchange, toenail removal, and rectal irrigation and dilation can be safely performed in a clinic setting. Tailoring pain management, anxiolysis, and the procedural approach to each patient is crucial, considering factors such as age, anatomic considerations, and the involvement of caregivers. This article provides guidelines and recommendations for performing various minor procedures, targeting care for newborns through adolescents in the outpatient environment.
